Since we had so much notice for the snowstorm did you make plans  - maybe some advance spring cleaning?  Cleaning jewelry is not fun but necessary and some of the silver needed it, esp pieces I have not worn in a while.  Even though I keep my silver in a 'tarnish safe keeper' some pieces need extra attention.  No I did not clean all of these - just the ones yelling the loudest!!
I have a ton of  bronzers but I am testing out 2 new - to - me:
  Too Faced Bronzed & Poreless
This is a beautiful color and appears darker in the compact than when applied.  It is very finely milled and only a little bit of powder is required - you could certainly build on this but for me just a light swipe with a brush and it's done!

Physicians Formula  Bronze Booster Season to Season
I really like the 4 diff variations of color in this compact - I am using Winter and Spring.  These separately or combined will be perfect now and thru summer - for overall color and a little contouring.  I scraped off the little shimmer ball in the center because it is not necessary since there is a light sheen in the powder - but not to the point of glitter - also no odor or orange tone.

Here is a new entry into the bronzer field but have not been able to find it yet ~
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Murumuru Butter Bronzer - Spring 2016
 Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer
Infused with Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter, this should be good for the skin. I am afraid this is going to be too shimmery for me but will give it a try when I find it - it might be a good choice as a base layer.

This Magic Mosaic in  Warm Beige / Light Bronzer has been a goodie for the past couple of years - I swirl it all together and use it all year.  I definitely use more bronzer than blush.

I just placed an Ulta order - with 20% off & $6 cash rewards, I picked up some things I wanted to try and some oldie goldies:

ColorStay Not Just Nudes Palette  Romantic

I can't wait to try this - should be perfect for spring & summer when you don't want to bother with foundation.

If you are a stitcher the storm urges you to pull out something to work on:
As a daily migraineur, I may go months and not do one stitch and I regret how much time I have lost over the years.  I would like to do a new Christmas piece and as you can see, no stitches are in progress!  But if I let it sit there and keep looking at it, maybe, just maybe..........
I forced myself to complete this alphabet sampler when GD was on the way:
I like to think one day it might hang in her daughter's room.

If you are not a follower, you just might want to think about joining, as there is a surprise on the horizon.  If you like eye shadow, I think you will like an upcoming giveaway~just for followers!

This is a delicious soup I found at the grocery store:
This is an excellent potato soup - very handy to keep in the pantry for chilly nights.  We could get our first snow this weekend & the grandchildren are over the moon since they will be here.

I am enjoying my new haircut - I really needed the layers - it helps add body to fine hair.  This is a little flatter than I normally wear as it was raining & freezing cold.
And yes, this is really my hair color - thanks to mother nature (it was darker before breast cancer).  But I was born with this color so I am happy with it.  I really need to use a molding wax but not sure which to get - I have this:
It smells heavenly! But I tend to be heavy-handed with hair products so I guess I need practice.
Let me know your favorites - I have Ulta & Sephora items in a cart ready to go so there is room to add more products!!!

I discovered Paul Mitchell prods many years ago & have a stockpile that I am going to drag out and try again.  I think the sculpting glaze is going to do a good job for holding the style on top.

I have used Dr. Dennis Gross products over the years & like them.  So I had to try this new product:
This is Ferulic Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum - I have been wanting to use a nightly serum so I am excited to try this.  I use retinol esp in the summer but I wanted something milder for the winter.

This week is partly teacher work days so I  will be keeping the grands - I think we will make cupcakes and I have ordered new coloring books to keep them busy:

My stars  ~  they are growing so fast !!!!!!!!!

I found these orchid color Christmas balls which will be lovely for this year's tree:
Vickerman 34785 - 2.75" Orchid Pink Matte Ball Christmas Tree Ornament (12 pack) (N590709DMV)
I was lucky my DIL wanted my cream & burgundy color scheme from this year - I am drawn to pink and might as well not deny what I really enjoy.

Since I cannot see my earrings it is time for a haircut!  And though my stylist keeps my appts ready for a year sometimes I get antsy & have to go in early.

This time of year encourages me to organize - which after the holidays is desperately needed.  To be honest, I have not unpacked several of my beauty purchases (darn those Ulta & Sephora sales!!
I have this corner armoire in my dressing room which is not completely full - so I need to organize it so more 'stuff' fits inside!
I am not sure I look forward to this task - but make me do it anyway!!!

I had to have Laura Mercier Matte to Metal Holiday Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection - these are 6 eye color sticks that go on smoothly and have super staying power - which will be perfect for the heat we endure here in the South during the summer.

Rose Gold - Amethyst - Khaki

(From top)         Sugar Frost - Aubergine - Ganache
This set has sold out in some places so I am thrilled I ordered these during the holiday sales.  I will probably mostly use these for the eye crease accent which will last longer than powder.  I won't use all of these but that's ok.

I am still in love with the Color(s) of the year ~ Rose Quartz & Serenity :

How beautiful is the new blush from Tarte - "Celebrated"
This is a lovely nod to Pantone's Color of the Year - it's a soft pink nude that is definitely coming home with me and I am not much of a blush person!  This color will be useful all year long especially for fair skin, as you can build it up.

If you enjoy cross stitch look at my other blog, http://mimisprimroselane.blogspot.com
as I am downsizing and if you are a collector there are great charts & linens for sale.  I miss stitching and rarely pick up a needle any longer because the migraines are just too consuming.  I want my pretties to go to good homes.
