I liked them well enough to get this new set: you can see the colors on the left of the pencils.

The colors are: Ultra Violet, After Midnight (has a little shimmer but not over the top ~ I like it), Brown Eyed Girl, Green River & Blackbird

 These rascals really hold up and worth every penny.
***I had to come back and let you know that I left the eye liners on my hand while I flubitzzed around the house.  Over an hour later I washed my hands and they did not move! But this is a good thing!  I used argan oil to remove the marks and which in turn moisturized my hands.  These are definitely my desert island products!

And while Land's End is having 40% off I picked up a couple of things:

 I bought the pink jacket since I already have the white & light denim.  I had a couple of other denims but could not find a black one so I dyed one by myself - I am happy with how it came out.

It is snack time around here.  And since Mr. 4 45 years had to have emergency gall bladder surgery I have to make things that are not too spicy or hard to digest.  I went with the simple things like pudding and I need some crunchy things - potato chips are off the list!
 Here is something easy that is quick to make.

 

Ingredients:

• 1 bag hard pretzels (anywhere from a 12 - 16 oz bag is fine)
• 3/4 cup oil (canola, vegetable, olive) I use a combo of veg & olive
  
• 1 and 1/2 Oregano
• 1Tbs herbes de provence
• 2 teaspoons garlic powder
• 2 teaspoons dried dill weed

I baked on 225' for 30 mins and stirred very 10 mins.  Next time will add a packet of ranch mix.

This time of year increases my desire to organize.  I have shown these before but for the new readers here are a couple of pretty organizing ideas that also make cute gifts.

These items are available at dollar stores - use cement glue to adhere the martini glass to the base - it dries clear.  These would be lovely for bridesmaids.

Here are other simple organizing ideas:

 My tea k cups stay fresh in these 'cookie' jars.

I use baskets to corral the GCs toys

 My walk in pantry is always stocked - living 30 miles from town makes it necessary.

I love collecting purses but really prefer a large bag that can carry my entire life!  I thought this was an adorable shoulder bag from Vera Bradley but never used it because I need something larger - so I have been using the Chanel.  I have put the VB up for sale on my Etsy site.

I have the urge to stitch which I have not seriously done in years... so sad because I love it and even had a store before my head went ballistic.  This dark frame looks great with the colors used to stitch this lovely sampler.

 Freezing weather is a great reason to bake - it is delicious & warms the house!

Blueberry Banana Bread 

• 2 eggs
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup brown sugar 
• 1/4 cup vegetable oil
• 1/4 cup mashed banana (1 banana)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 cup frozen blueberries

Bake at 350 deg- depending on the pan, may take up to an hour.  It will be very brown on top - use a toothpick to check the center - it should remove very clean.

Do you combine fragrances for a unique scent?  I do many times and it is easy to do with these Nest fragrances.  These also go well with the Black Tulip scent.

 Aerin (estee lauder) and Jimmy Choo = spicy floral

My regular shopping outfit - I only wear easy things when I have to try on clothes.  I try to stay with styles that I do not have to try on because I know the cut of the clothes will fit me and that way I can order on-line and do not have to go out ~ especially since we are supposed to get 'wintery mix' this weekend!

I soooo need a hair cut - my wonderful stylist retired and moved away - at this point I will go anywhere in NC for a great hair designer!!

Because I dropped my slow cooker I had to buy another one and I am pleased it is larger:

 An easy lunch - chicken, potatoes & green beans - I always use a liner for fast clean-up!

I use chicken stock and various seasonings like oregano, herbes de provence & bay leaves.  I leave it in for 5-6 hours and dinner is ready whenever I need it!

My stars!  We got the most snow ever here on the mountain - 14" which is a lot for the South.  I have enjoyed this for a few days so I am ready for it to go away!

 

Pantone's color of the year is not my cup of tea.  I have never been drawn to coral/orangey colors - I am still enjoying last year's color (post below).

Do you see this as part of your new year color scheme?

These colors are so beautiful and I am happy to just sit and look at them.  I have not really tried this palette yet as I have been bothered by irritated eyes - I don't know why as the cataract surgery was successful.  I have started using my antibiotic eye drops again so I hope it helps.

I am very fond of this lip creme/gloss with argan oil and hint of color.

It is very moisturizing and remains until you take it off.  This can also be used as cheek color which is a nice option in the winter if you need blush.

I have absolutely loved the Modern Renaissance palette from Anastasia

The colors are beautiful and the color pay off was good.  The Antique Bronze (3rd one in from right top) is perfect for the eye crease and blends well with the other lid colors.  This and the palette below will make great gifts for yourself - or anyone else!

My new eyeshadow love is here and we will look at it more closely next time.  It deserves a separate post ~ Naked Cherry!

Cold weather has arrived in the South so those of us with dry skin begin the fight.  Here are 3 I keep in my rotation all year:

Skinfix Flavor Free Lip Repair Balm is worth every penny.  This tube gives moisturization without a greasy feel.  The only improvement I could recommend is adding SPF.

The holiday baking has begun here and I am baking things that can be frozen: like these Choc Brownies sprinkled with goodies - like left over Halloween candy!   I just have to get them in the freezer before they are eaten. *Do not feel badly if you use a mix - your time is valuable and this is a busy time of year!

 Have you started creating the Thanksgiving menu - I would have a mutiny if I changed anything!
What are your favorite foods?

The fall village is out - now I have to keep it clean!  But these are worth the effort.
