Pantone's Color of the year  Ultra Violet was a good basic color but I have not used it very much.
I am more drawn to Rose & Pink (below)

All these colors are nice and would easily be incorporated in any decorating scheme.
I always look forward to the new color and I think it was early Dec that Pantone announced last year's color so it will not be much longer.

I saw a photo someone took of an Hermes & Gucci bag on the edge of a pool.
Can you imagine the heart break if they fell over into the pool???!!!!! It would not be worth the risk to me.  When I go to a restaurant the purse must have its own chair!!

I did not realize Oct 10 was National Handbag Day but what a great day to celebrate.  I honestly love my purses so much I rarely use them!!!  But GD already has her eye on some and I did give her a small LV to keep for her allowance.
Gucci was my first love & purchase but alas it was stolen many years ago.  But I have trekked on and added LV & Chanel to my collection.

I need a haircut but my stylist retired and moved away - oh how I miss her!
She recommended someone else in the salon and I may try her.  So far I have been trimming myself.
No 'oops' yet!

This is an easy lunch: boneless chicken breasts, red potatoes & green beans.
I always use a liner for faster clean-up and add the basic seasonings=salt,pepper, garlic powder,cumin, Worcestershire sauce.  I made extra chicken for tacos later in the week.

Hello lovelies!  I cannot believe we are facing another hurricane - the eastern part of NC has not recovered from the last one and 81 roads are still closed here.

I know many of you lost so much during the last storm and I want to help my loyal readers.  If you want to send me a note about your circumstances and describe what you lost I will try to help replace some of the make up that did not survive.  I realize this is not the same level as losing your home but if it can bring some joy to you I will be glad to help.  Let me know your preferences (do you need mascara or blush) and a physical address that I can send a package.  Everything will be new & unopened.  (If you do not hear from me it is because I did not have anything you needed or I ran out of my extras) - if you leave your email address I will delete it as soon as I can - I know you don't want spam!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stuffing Casserole

Ingredients

2 6 oz Chicken Flavored Stuffing Mix prepared as directed except with broth instead of water 

2 10 oz Cream of Chicken Soup 

1/2 Cup Milk (can be adjusted if it looks too soupy)

 3 Cups Cooked Chicken- Cubed - if using fresh chicken be sure it is completely cooked.

Shredded cheese for topping if desired.

Instructions

1. Prepare stuffing as directed replacing water with broth.
2. Place in a sprayed 5 QT Slow Cooker or use a liner-so much easier for clean-up!
3. Stir in one can of soup.
4. In another bowl, mix milk, chicken and other soup & add finely chopped onion and celery.
   If you don't have celery on hand use some celery seeds. I also add oregano & herbes de provence.
5. Pour over stuffing.
6. Cook on Low for 6 Hours
   Place cheese on top at the end of cooking.

The cataract surgery went well and things are so much clearer now.  I have the 2nd surgery next week and I will be glad to have it behind me.

We survived the hurricane and everything is still standing.  The grands were here for a week and may not go back to school until next week.
It is good to keep easy things for kids to eat = crackers, trail mix, individual packs of juice, hot dogs which can be cooked on the grill - it is best to be prepared.  I also add new crayons & coloring books and make sure their tablets are powered - up.  I wish the best to everyone affected by the monster.

Here are some beauties I ordered from Tarte:

 I got Spellbound Glow highlighter - Blush & Glow in rose gold and Double Duty Beauty eye shadows. I don't really need more highlighter so I might let this go.  The eye shadows have more glitter than I use but some of the colors are irresistible! Collecting seems to be my new hobby!

I absolutely love fall - do you have your wreath up ?

My fall wreath seems to give the door a fresh look.  I am very tired of 90 deg days!

I tried a recipe that is supposed to be simple macaroni & cheese in the crock pot - you don't even have to boil the pasta.

It took much longer than stated and the taste was not as creamy as my gang likes.  I never add new recipes for the first time for holiday dinners - so this is out the door!  I am trying to get Thanksgiving in my mind so I can plan ahead - cataract surgery next week is throwing me off.

Happy weekend everyone ~  I wanted to do a quick post before cataract surgery this week.  I am definitely nervous about this but everyone I have spoke with has been happy with the results.  It has been very difficult  to see anything even with magnifiers so I hope all goes well.

Since this was my birthday month  I tried a new scent that I love in a lotion.
  Euphoria by Calvin Klein is luxurious deep & floral.  But I went to a dept store for the fragrance and it was very different -  it did not seem similar to the lotion at all so I passed on  the perfume - but I would definitely buy the lotion again.

When I can see in  a week I will share some some of my other birthday treats.

I do love this newer fragrance from Nest ~ Black Tulip

It is dark and floral and can easily smell  plum, pink pepper, black amber and  Japanese violet.
Others have noted it is similar to  Lancome's "La Vie Est Belle, though I find Tulip is mysteriously darker.  Wish it lasted a little longer but I am happy to apply more!
It is worth every penny!

Sorry to be so long posting - dr appts & tests have kept me busy and exhausted.  So rather than fiddle with make up I have been using self tanner.  Some of these even have spf so that is a bonus!

I had bananas that needed to be used up so banana bread was in order.  I always add nuts to mine and I prefer pecans - they have a sweeter taste.

I baked this in a bundt pan which makes it easy to slice & freeze a portion if you want.

• 3 ¹⁄₂ cups flour
• 3 cups sugar (I use 1 cup of brown sugar)
• 1 ¹⁄₂ teaspoons baking soda
• 1 ¹⁄₂ teaspoons salt
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
  
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp all spice (opt)
• 2 tsp vanilla
• 4 eggs
• ²⁄₃ cup water
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Brownie Recipe
My gang was wanting brownies but a migraine was coming on so I wanted to make some before the storm starts.  For these occasions I keep mixes on hand but you can easily make them special.
 Make the mix up as stated on the box and proceed to add things your family likes: for us it is extra choc chips, walnuts or pecans and mini candy bars cut up - certainly add marshmallows and any other favorites you have.  We like our brownies to be cake-like but if you like the gooey stuff just bake for a shorter time.
So even if I am not present my loved ones know I was thinking about them and when I am better I can have a brownie too!

 I like my brownie warmed and then add cookies with ice cream.
