This fall Louis Vuitton bag is not a stellar production:

The basic design and colors are good but not much of the iconic elements are there.  It is lovely on the face but does not draw me to spend serious $$$$$$ on this design.

I am loving the Ralph Lauren and have a similar bag:

I tend to really prefer textured bags.

 One of my favorite fall color combinations are grey + pink so I think this is a good investment piece.

The Princess is getting a doll house for Christmas (it was on sale!) and Papaw kindly put it together without too many bad words:

He had to make a box big enough to hide it and keep it dust-free until the holidays.  I also found some miniature unfinished furniture that I will decorate in shabby chic style that will fit in this doll house.
I know she will love it.

I am enjoying the colors in the this new summer robe:

My grand daughter adores purple - I tend towards pink but this shade is a happy medium.
I also ordered another robe in a soft lilac color and I think I can become accustomed to this color, even if it isn't pink!

Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette is here and I love it.  Mostly matte colors that will be fabulous year 'round and a mirror the entire size of the palette.

These are some of my favorite shades of eye shadow and all the colors will be useful for the rest of the year: the top picture is from a cloudy day - 
the bottom colors were shot with the flash - only the very light colors seemed  diff (the bottom pic is the most true).

From Beauty Concepts, it has a protective plastic cover and the bristles are very soft - it was under $10 so worth a try.  I might go back and pick up a back up!

June is Migraine & Headache Awareness Month.  If you know anyone that suffers from this horrible disease please learn as much as you can - to this end I have enclosed some links that may be helpful:

As a daily migraineur, I feel your pain.  I worry that my grandchildren will only remember me in bed with the shades pulled.  And when one of them comes to tell me their head hurts I almost pass out from fear that I have passed this disease on to them.
Find yourself a compassionate Dr - it may take many trys but keep going - you deserve a quality of life that you can participate in.  The  recent talk on tv of reducing pain medications makes me angry because for some of us this is our only option - after 4 brain surgeries there is nothing else to be done and yes, we have tried every medication that is available.  Find a Dr. that makes you happy.
                            Please remember this: Migraine is a disease - not a headache.

There is nothing pretty or fashionable about this disease but so many suffer and at least we can learn and be supportive for those we care about.

Mr. For 42 Years has to go for a liver biopsy this week so I am making some of his favorite foods.
It's the least I can do -  caring for me after 4 brain surgeries, he so deserves to be spoiled!

He loves brownies!  And since these delicious ice creams were on sale I stocked up on these:

This is a brand that I have not seen since I was a teenager: Yardley

This perfumed talc powder is Lily of the Valley and I found it at a discount dept store for $5.99!
I keep all of these open so they scent the dressing room & walk-in closet. It was so popular in my younger days!

This new serum form of self-tanning works great! It's L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum.

I have just started using it and it goes on quickly without a sticky residue.  Definitely wash your hands right away or use those disposable dr. gloves - I keep boxes of those in the kitchen and my dressing room.  It tried quickly and supposedly lasts for over a week - we'll see, as I exfoliate frequently.

This little bottle of nail polish is cute and is supposed to have fragrance:

I don't' smell a strong "Autumn Spice" but it is a cute marketing idea!  This included with some additional beauty items would make a nice gift basket.

I am so glad stripes are still popular - I have a ton of them!

I love the ones I have gotten from Lands End and Ralph Lauren - they 100% cotton and so comfortable with the summer weather.  Enduring the heat here in the South is a full-time job!

There has been so much rain but the azaleas love it!

I thought it was going to be a  Simple Friday - hair & nail salon - groceries, so I just needed a touch of mascara, lip gloss & plum eye shadow - but the Dr calls and tells me it is time for some vaccines - unfortunately my whining & complaining did not allow me to escape!  So I will schedule this for  publication and then off to bed - my arm hurts & I have a mild fever - hopefully something entertaining will be on tv!  At least the new InStyle is here!

I can't get over how simple oven fajitas were to make! My gang loves this - just throw everything into a baking pan and let it cook! I really like my chicken done so I probably over cook it to some degree but since I put everything on my fajitas they will be moist. I find it simple to buy a packet of seasoning but add more things like cumin, cayenne and seasoned salt. Before & After:

It is time to be very mindful about using sunscreen and I am currently using this one by Neutrogena:

This is a broad sprectrum SPF 70 - it is sheer & quickly absorbs.  I also use this when I go to the nail salon because I think it adds some protection under the curing lamp - you can't take too many precautions.

This is short but I wanted to say 'hello' and relay that my friend's grandson is coming along nicely after the heart surgery.  Hopefully he will be home this week. Thank you for the kind thoughts.

I have some new pretties to show you next time!  It has rained all week so taking good pictures has been a challenge but it has been great for the azaleas!

My friend's grandchild is having open heart surgery so at this moment we are concentrating on this situation but I will be back.  We look forward to a wonderful outcome.

     The (Aquarelle) Watercolor Speedy is one of the many representations of the classic
bag which originally came only in white but later was made with a brown background. (No longer available).
I have never used this bag - heaven only knows what I am waiting for especially now that the color is hot again!
 Trivia Question:  Did you know that there are 17 paint colors that were used in blurring the Watercolor Speedy? See how smart we are!

I intend to make this year's Christmas tree a pink beauty (ok, I have already started collecting new ornaments with the pink theme~I can't help it ~I'm already excited about the holidays!)

(According to my son, I like them better - hummmm!) It is the most unconditional love - grandchildren do not care what your job is or how much money you have - they only know how you make them feel - they know they are loved just because they exist ~ and that's enough.

The grands & I like barbecue potato chips but sometimes it's a little sweet for me so I decided to 'dress' mine up!
I added cayenne pepper and cumin to my portion and loved it! It toned down the sweetness and made it uniquely mine!

My precious babies are here for the weekend so craziness will commence - and how I love it!

I have to help celebrate one of my favorite brands of hair spray ~ Kenra

 I have various forms of their products and really like Working Spray,

                                                            and Texturizing Mist
All are excellent products that do not get stiff - nice fragrance that goes away quickly & does not conflict with perfume.

I tried a pink & bronze-coppery eye shadow look and I don't care for it - it did not seem to highlight the green in my eyes.  Maybe I should go darker with the crease and shading.

Yes, I will have some syrup to go with my french toast! (lite, of course!)
No, really I only do this once a month - it would be terrible if it should become a habit!!!

I started collecting Pfaltzgraff during the Bicentennial and have almost all the pieces in the Yorktowne series.  They are celebrating 200 yrs of creating durable, classic pieces of dinnerware.  Here is an article that is very informative if you collect any of their lines:
